Law Clerk
Maria Germanetti is law clerk in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, where she provides support on a variety of litigation matters during the pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, and trial or settlement negotiation phases.
Maria has experience in civil ligation work, focusing on contract disputes, liquor law distribution agreement disputes, debtor/creditor rights, health care law, real estate and property law, immigration law, employment discrimination, torts, and constitutional law.
Prior to and during law school, Maria served as a legal intern with the Court of Common Pleas in both Cumberland County and in Northampton County. She also served as a law clerk for the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, Appellate Division, where she gained courtroom experience as a Certified Legal Intern (CLI) by presenting indirect criminal contempt complaints filed by survivors of domestic violence; conducting Driving Under the Influence (DUI) non-jury trials; conducting traffic and non-traffic summary appeals hearings and plea negotiations.
Maria has also worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Lehigh County, where she gained experience in working with victims of child abuse and related childhood trauma in Orphan’s Court by coordinating with the child’s physicians, teachers, school administrators, social workers, and Guardian ad litem. Maria worked in an advocacy role by writing reports to the court to ensure the needs and best interests of the child are met through dependency and adoption proceedings.
Maria earned her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law where she was an associate editor for the Dickinson Law Review and served as a legal research assistant in the areas of cybersecurity and constitutional law. She received her B.A. magna cum laude and is working towards her Master of Arts in criminal justice from DeSales University with a concentration in digital and mobile forensics.
