Associate
Michael Townsend is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, where he provides strategic advice to individuals and companies in complex commercial disputes.
Michael has represented plaintiffs and defendants in shareholder lawsuits in New Jersey, New York, and the Delaware Court of Chancery – including corporate governance disputes, fiduciary duty actions, fraud, and shareholder oppression lawsuits. He also has experience handling white-collar criminal matters, including representing companies facing government investigations.
Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, Michael was an associate at a commercial litigation boutique focused on corporate law and securities litigation. Prior to that, he was a litigation associate at a large New Jersey-based law firm.
While attending law school at Georgetown University Law Center, Michael served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Lois H. Goodman in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He also worked at a Washington, D.C. think tank, where he focused his research on criminal justice reform.
