Annmarie Simeone, a Member with the law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will be conducting an audio conference entitled Utilizing Paralegals to Increase Firm Profits and Client Satisfaction. She serves as the firm-wide Paralegal Coordinator and is principally responsible for day-to-day oversight of the firm’s Litigation Department paralegal staff. Arthur G. Greene, a Principal of Boyer Greene, LLC, a law firm consulting organization, will conduct the audio conference with Simeone. The audio conference, which is sponsored by the Center for Competitive Management (CCM), will be held on April 9, 2009, from 2:00 to 3:15 PM.
The interactive seminar is designed to provide strategies on how to enhance paralegal utilization to improve firm profits, create a paralegal utilization model that works for individual law firms and improve paralegal efficiency to ease concerns raised by cost-conscious clients. The goal of the seminar is to help firms effectively use paralegals to produce bottom-line benefits.
Simeone, a resident of Woodbridge, concentrates her practice on labor & employment litigation. She has a wide range of experience in both state and federal courts, primarily defending management in claims made under state and federal employment laws, including claims for sexual harassment, race, gender, national origin, and disability discrimination. She also has been involved in cases alleging constructive discharge, wrongful termination, retaliation, breach of express or implied employment contracts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and violations of restrictive covenants. Her work includes the defense of corporate defendants, as well as individual officers, directors and employees, addressing issues unique to small businesses, as well as challenges faced by large public companies. In addition, she has significant experience in complex commercial litigation, focusing on business disputes such as shareholder actions, and breach of contract matters.
In connection with all areas of her practice, Simeone is responsible for supervision and handling all aspects of pretrial proceedings, including discovery and motion practice, as well as settlement negotiations, arbitrations and mediations. She has been actively involved in both jury and non-jury trials, as well as appellate practice.
Simeone earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1993 and her B.A., summa cum laude, from St. John’s University in 1990. She is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and is a member of the Federal, New Jersey State, Middlesex County and Somerset County Bar Associations. She is a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers and serves on the Board of Directors as Co-Director of the Women’s Leadership Resources Committee of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.
Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, P.A., Simeone served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Robert P. Figarotta, P.J.S.C., (ret.) Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County.
