David Adelson has over 30 years of litigation and healthcare law experience and represents a wide array of healthcare professionals and medical practices.
David’s practice includes a broad range of health law litigation and administrative legal matters in New York and New Jersey with concentrations in the fields of professional discipline, hearings and appeals related to professional misconduct, private and public insurance audits, fraud and abuse, audit refund requests (private, Medicaid, and Medicare), HIPAA, employment matters, and IPRO inquiries.
David has successfully defended physicians in investigations before medical boards including OPMC, SBME, and OPD, as well as in private health insurance billing audits, civil Medicare/Medicaid audit/fraud claims, physician privileges, insurance fraud and abuse, RAC audits, OIG matters, MACRA and MIPS.
He has lectured at numerous hospitals and before healthcare-related legal and medical organizations on health law issues including over-prescribing of medications, inappropriate conduct of practitioners, general licensure, healthcare-related cyber security issues, fraud and abuse, medical records, confidentiality of protected health information, employment contract challenges, and administrative law proceedings.
David has litigated numerous healthcare matters and defended sizable audits against some of the largest national healthcare insurance providers.
Prior to joining the firm, David was managing partner at Kern Augustine.
