Oren M. Chaplin focuses his practice on business and securities matters.
As a member of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group, Oren acts as outside counsel for companies and individuals in their daily business activities and in their commercial transactions.
For many years, he has drafted and negotiated agreements, including relationship arrangements among equity stakeholders, between business partners, and intercompany arrangements. These agreements supplement his general contracting and corporate experience, which includes merger, acquisition, and business planning documents; entity formation, corporate governance, and due diligence matters; operating and shareholder agreements; supply and distribution agreements; referral, services, consulting, employment, and termination agreements; and other documents and instruments.
His clients’ markets include medical, financial services, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, fashion, photography and the arts, manufacturing, higher education, and professional service firms.
From the firm’s WeWork office at 222 Broadway in New York City, Oren works with startups and entrepreneurs, handling entity formation agreements, contracts, and business planning.
Prior to his career in private practice, Oren served as Law Clerk for the Honorable Amy Piro Chambers, P.J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, from 2001 to 2002.
While in law school, Oren was Managing Editor for the New England Law Review. At the University of Delaware, he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology and Criminal Justice Honor Society.
