Kurt G. Briscoe devotes his practice to patent prosecution, focusing primarily on the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology arts.
Kurt is a well-regarded patent examiner and was previously employed at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, bringing more than 35 years of experience both inside and outside of government. He now assists clients navigating challenging IP cases. This has included a complex matter where Kurt worked with an examiner to allow claims that were broader than the client expected, which was immensely helpful to the inventor and business department involved. He has also worked with European patent attorney clients and company executives to provide strategic insight on high level patent prosecution matters.
Kurt has extensive technical experience in the areas of organic syntheses, heterocyclic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, including Hatch-Waxman, adhesives, rubber technologies, catalysis, surfactants, personal care, home care, medical devices, dental devices, and light mechanical devices.
