Jill Lebowitz, a Member of the Bridgewater-based law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been elected President of the Greater Middlesex/Somerset Estate Planning Council. She previously served as Vice President and is on the Board of Trustees.
The Greater Middlesex/Somerset Estate Planning Council is affiliated with The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC), a national organization of affiliated estate planning councils and professional estate planners focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards. NAEPC provides public awareness of the services rendered by multi-disciplinary professionals who meet these standards, and believes that the team approach to estate planning best serves the client.
Lebowitz devotes her practice to estate planning, trusts and estates administration, and counseling tax-exempt organizations. She is experienced in drafting estate planning instruments and counseling individuals and families regarding estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues, philanthropic planning, and the development of both simple and complex estate plans. In addition, she handles all aspects of trust and estate administration, as well as fiduciary litigation. Lebowitz is Vice Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section and a member of the U.S. Meritas Trusts and Estates Practice Group Steering Committee. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law—Newark, and her B.A. from New York University.
