Jeralyn Lawrence Trains Lawyers on the Collaborative Divorce Process

Bridgewater, NJ (March 12, 2012) – Jeralyn L. Lawrence, a Member of the Bridgewater-based law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will participate in two-day program, “Collaborative Law Training,” sponsored by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE). Her topics will be “Collaborative v. Litigation,” a comparative analysis; “The Paradigm Shift,” a discussion about the movement to more collaborative approach in divorce; “Business Valuations in the Collaborative Process;” “Team Challenges: the non-collaborative attorney; advocacy in the collaborative setting; working through impasse;” and “Recap of Key Issues from Training Program.” The program will be held on March 16 and 17, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

This introductory, intensive two-day training will provide a solid foundation on the basics of the collaborative divorce process, which is now practiced in every state in the United States and in 24 other countries. By using real and hypothetical scenarios, as well as role play demonstrations, attendees will explore the role of each member of the collaborative team—the attorney, the financial expert, and the mental health professional. The program will compare the collaborative process to traditional approaches to divorce to provide a unique perspective on how the collaborative process often results in more amicable, long-lasting solutions that benefit the entire family. The program meets the standards set forth by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). For more information or to register, visit the NJICLE web site at www.njicle.com or call (732)214-8500.
