CMO of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. Joins NJALA

Somerville, NJ (October 22, 2008) – The Somerville law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that Chief Marketing Officer Edward C. Miller, Jr. will be joining the Editorial Committee of the New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators (NJALA).

The New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators is dedicated to the continued improvement of law office operations through monthly educational programs, the publication of a quarterly newsletter and, perhaps most importantly, by encouraging “networking” with other administrators. The NJALA newsletter has been recognized as one of the most outstanding newsletters in the International ALA.

Miller serves as Chief Marketing Officer for the full-service commercial law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A.. He has more than 17 years of experience in law firm and attorney marketing. Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, Miller was the Practice Development Coordinator at the Morristown law firm Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland & Perretti, LLP and is the Founder and Managing Member of Esquire Marketing and Sales, LLC. He is also Co-Founder and Co-President of PastTheBar.com, which is an interactive website that teaches business development skills to attorneys and law students.

Miller is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring the marketing and business development program at Norris McLaughlin, as well as assisting firm management with long-term strategic planning issues. He is also responsible for overseeing the marketing duties for the firm’s ancillary businesses. Miller assists attorneys with the development and implementation of individual and practice group marketing plans, on both the partner and associate level. He is expert in designing and writing law firm marketing communications materials. He also organizes and conducts seminars, client events and trade show presentations. Additionally, Miller has developed and implemented law firm visual identity and branding campaigns, as well as internal communications, community relations, and client service programs.

Miller earned his B.S. in Marketing Management from Syracuse University School of Management. He is a member of the Legal Marketing Association, American Marketing Association, Association of Legal Administrators and Business Marketing Association. He regularly speaks and publishes on a variety of legal marketing topics.
