Deanna L. Koestel, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., joined a panel of local business professionals for the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) New Jersey chapter’s learning event, “Insight 2020 Lightning-Round Secrets from Top Experts,” which was held on September 18 at Verve Restaurant in Somerville.

The panel discussion was moderated by Carl Gould, President of 7 Stage Advisors, and answered the EO audience participants’ questions in a lighting-round style. The audience questions were posed to help participants plan for success in the upcoming year resulting in a lively discussion on multiple topics that were “top of mind” for local entrepreneurs.
EO is a global network of influential business owners that assists entrepreneurs to network, learn, and grow professionally by providing peer-to-peer knowledge, relationship-building events, and connections to experts. In addition to Koestel, panelists included Scott Peloquin, ChFC, founder and Chief Executive Officer of benefEx Benefit Consulting; Robert Michel, Chief Operating Officer of Glen Eagle Advisors; Tomasz Labuda, Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager of M&T Bank; Kurt Olender, Founding and Managing Partner of Olender Feldman; Robert Waring, Managing Director of Strategic Exit Advisors; and Chris DeMayo, Partner Practice Leader for the Technology and Emerging Growth Services Group of Withum.

About Deanna Koestel
Koestel is a commercial litigator who focuses on complex commercial and construction litigation, shareholder disputes, and general business law matters in New Jersey and New York. She has represented clients in a variety of industries with significant experience in the construction, food & beverage, and healthcare industries. Koestel has experience litigating matters including breach of contract, fraud and consumer fraud actions, breach of fiduciary duty and other business disputes, product defect & liability, and professional negligence claims. She is experienced in all aspects of commercial litigation from commencement through trial, including sophisticated fact and expert discovery, motion practice, argument, arbitration and trial, and post-judgment collection and regularly assists clients with responses to all types of subpoenas.
Koestel brings a practical and business-savvy approach to the law and she serves as general “outside counsel” for several businesses. In this role, she proactively provides advice and strategy to these businesses with the goal of accommodating both business and legal needs while minimizing or avoiding future litigation risks.
Koestel has been named a New Jersey Rising Star by the Business Litigation section of Super Lawyers. She currently serves as Board Member and Fundraising Development Chair for the non-profit organization Girls on the Run NYC. Koestel has been recognized as a Volunteer of the Year for her work with H.A.R.K. (Healthy Active Responsible Kids), where she was a founding board member and trustee, and Girls on the Run of Central New Jersey. She is active in community outreach and fundraising for various charities in New Jersey and New York.
Koestel earned her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2002 and her B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1999.
