Posted on October 4th, 2017

Julie Macomb, an Associate at Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been appointed to the Board of Managers of The Bach Choir of Bethlehem for a two-year term.

Founded in 1898, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem was the first choir in America to present many of J.S. Bach’s most important choral works, including his masterpiece, the Mass in B Minor.  The Choir, comprising more than 90 volunteer singers, has dramatically expanded its local, national, and international presence through year-round programming, acclaimed educational outreach, celebrated tours, and outstanding recordings.

“I am excited to join the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and to be a part of their ongoing mission to teach and encourage appreciation of Bach’s musical works. The choir has an excellent reputation for bringing education and performance opportunities to the Lehigh Valley and beyond, and is helping to preserve the value of Bach’s music for the future,” said Macomb.

A resident of Allentown, Macomb devotes her practice to business law, economic development law and real estate law.  She is actively involved in the day-to-day legal counseling of businesses, formation of business entities, general contract matters, corporate restructurings, and shareholder disputes.  In her health care practice, Macomb works with hospitals and their affiliated corporations, physician groups, clinical laboratories, medical staffs, nursing homes, and other long-term care facilities.  In her economic development practice, she handles public financing, and legal entity formation and planning, working with the Lehigh County Industrial Development Authority, Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation, Lehigh’s Economic Advancement Project, and Northampton County New Jobs Corp.  Her real estate practice is focused on commercial lending issues; realty transfer tax issues; leasing projects for the firm’s healthcare clients; and acquisition, zoning, and disposition of commercial, residential, industrial, and retail properties.

Macomb sits on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton District Main Street Program and co-chairs the Design Committee for the Program.  She is also on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of CREW and the Board of Directors of the Community Music School.  In 2017, she was named by Lehigh Valley Business as a Woman to Watch for her contributions to the Firm and the community.  Macomb earned her J.D. in 2013, magna cum laude, from Widener University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Maryland in 2010.
