In a recent ConsumerAffairs article on personally identifiable information, Member Kim Weber explained how details like a name, job title, employer, or city (which are often publicly available) can be aggregated by threat actors and used in phishing and social engineering attacks.
Kim also outlined why organizations need ongoing, comprehensive data‑security practices, noting that protecting PII isn’t something you can simply “set and forget.”
