Lana Ros Named Somerset County Bar Association Trustee

Svetlana (Lana) Ros, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been named a Trustee of the Somerset County Bar Association (SCBA), based on her depiction of exceptional service both in the legal industry and the Somerset County community.

I’ve learned so much through the education provided and met a lot of great people, and I look forward to continuing my work with the Association and advancing its mission,” said Ros.

Founded over 100 years ago, the SCBA is dedicated to public service and the enhancement of the legal profession by providing programs such as continuing legal education and legal referral services. Association members have included many prominent judges, legislators, and attorneys who have served New Jersey and Somerset County with distinction. The SCBA promotes the highest standards of practice and encourages its members to contribute their time within both the legal community and the community at large.

About Lana Ros

Ros focuses her practice on health care law, specifically in the area of civil and administrative litigation, with a concentration in professional licensure and general defense before government agencies providing oversight to the practice of medicine and dentistry. She also handles transactional and regulatory matters affecting health care providers. Ros routinely represents health care professionals before federal agencies, including Medicare, Office of Civil Rights, and Office of the Inspector General, and state agencies such as Department of Banking and Insurance, Attorney General’s Office, and Department of Health.

As a member of the firm’s Cannabis Law Industry Group, Ros draws on her extensive knowledge and background in dealing with regulatory agencies to assist health care providers and non-health care clients to navigate the complex and developing area of medical cannabis. She frequently writes and lectures throughout New Jersey and New York on legal issues affecting health care professionals, such as medical cannabis, over-prescribing of medications, inappropriate conduct of practitioners, general licensure, health care-related cybersecurity issues, fraud and abuse, medical records, HIPAA, and employment law.

Ros is very active in the legal community. In addition to now being a Trustee for the SCBA, she currently serves as its Continuing Legal Education Committee Co-Chair. Ros is also the Secretary for the New Jersey State Bar Association Health Law Section, a member of the Cannabis Law Committee for the New York State Bar Association, a member of the Healthcare Forum Steering Committee of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey, and serves on the Supreme Court of New Jersey District XA Ethics Committee for East Morris and Sussex Counties. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2007 and her B.S. in biotechnology and nutrition from Rutgers University in 2003.
