Lauren L. Sorrentino, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., and Chair of its Pennsylvania Matrimonial & Family Law Practice Group, has been named to the Board of Directors of Community Services for Children, Inc. The Board provides guidance, oversight, and support to the organization.
Community Services for Children aims to prepare children and their families for success with innovative, comprehensive, and leading-edge services assisting in learning and in life. Since 1965, the organization has been the local platform for several early education programs, including Early Head Start, which supports expectant mothers and children from birth to age 3; and Head Start and Pre-K Counts, two preschool options. They also lead Early Learning Resource Centers in 17 Pennsylvania counties and provide national-level professional development for teachers and trainers.
A resident of Allentown, Sorrentino focuses her practice on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, equitable distribution, alimony, prenuptial and property settlement agreements, child support, child custody, and protection from abuse. Apart from the board position with Community Services for Children, she is actively involved in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Family Law Section and is a Council Member of the Section. She is a former member of the Section’s Rules Committee and Programming Committee. Sorrentino is actively involved in the Family Law Committees of the Bar Association of Lehigh County and the Northampton County Bar Association. A top Lehigh Valley lawyer, she publishes articles on a variety of family law topics and serves as a panelist at family law educational programs.
Sorrentino earned her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, in 2002 and her B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Columbia University in 1998.
