New Jersey Women Lawyer’s Association
Promotes Leadership through Programming

Bridgewater, NJ (February 22, 2010) – The New Jersey Women Lawyers Association (NJWLA) hosted an insightful panel discussion entitled “Successful Rainmaking and Marketing Strategies.” Annmarie Simeone, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., helped to organize the panel discussion, as Co-Director of NJWLA’s Women’s Leadership Resources Committee.

The Women’s Leadership Resources Committee engages in statewide efforts to support and promote members to the highest levels of law firm, government, community, corporate positions and the judiciary. The Committee fosters leadership among its membership through mentoring, business development programming, educational programming, focused goal-specific networking efforts and creation of a job network resource for women lawyers that fosters leadership skills and provides support and guidance to women lawyers who seek to be leaders in their fields.

Simeone, a resident of Woodbridge, concentrates her practice on labor & employment litigation. She has a wide range of experience in both state and federal courts and agencies, primarily defending management in claims made under state and federal employment laws, including claims for sexual harassment, race, gender, national origin, and disability discrimination. She also has been involved in cases alleging constructive discharge, wrongful termination, retaliation, breach of express or implied employment contracts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and violations of restrictive covenants. Her work includes the defense of corporate defendants, as well as individual officers, directors and employees, addressing issues unique to small businesses, as well as challenges faced by large public companies.

Simeone also speaks and publishes in the area Labor & Employment law. Most recently, she authored an L&E law alert entitled “New Amendments Broaden Workplace Leave Protections for Military Families.” She has presented on topics including “Employer Best Practices for Workers with Caregiving Responsibilities.”

Simeone earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University in 1993 and her B.A., summa cum laude, from St. John’s University in 1990. She is admitted to the New Jersey Bar and is a member of the New Jersey State, Middlesex County and Somerset County Bar Associations, as well as the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Simeone is a member of the NMM Women’s Forum. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Resource Center of Somerset.
