Nicholas Pellitta Appointed Chair of the Board of Raritan Valley Community College Foundation
Bridgewater, NJ (October 11, 2013) – Nicholas F. Pellitta, a Member of the Bridgewater law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been appointed Chair of the Board of the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation.
“It is my pleasure to continue to serve the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation and take on this new leadership role. I am dedicated to serving the Foundation and, in turn, the needs of Somerset and Hunterdon counties,” said Pellitta.
The Foundation was created in 1971 to help Raritan Valley Community College expand and meet the growing educational and cultural needs of residents and businesses in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. The Foundation strives to enhance the College's standing as the most important source of culture and continuing education in Somerset and Hunterdon counties and works with the College to expand the relationships it has forged with businesses and the community. The mission of the Raritan Valley Community College Foundation is to raise funds above and beyond public and tuition sources and to promote awareness of the institution.
A resident of Flemington, Pellitta has substantial experience in a variety of legal areas in both federal and state courts. He has represented colleges and universities for 25 years in areas such as tort claim defense, police litigation, civil rights and student discipline. On the individual level, Pellitta offers assistance to clients in a variety of matters in all state courts.
Pellitta currently serves on the Board of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, and was previously Board Chair and Legal Counsel to the Chamber. He is Chair Emeritus of the Hunterdon Prevention Resources (HPR) and serves as a member of the HPR Board of Trustees. He has been honored by the Rutgers University Department of Public Safety for 20 years of service to the Rutgers Police Department as a Rutgers Assistant Prosecutor, Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
