The Fit-Friendly Worksite program was developed to address this issue and help lower the risk of heart disease for employees. Fit-Friendly Worksites are recognized by the American Heart Association as employers who go above and beyond when it comes to their employees' health. Participating employers have embraced criteria outlined by the American Heart Association in the areas of physical activity, nutrition, and culture.
Norris McLaughlin, P.A. provided a healthy workplace for employees by, among other things, offering all employees physical activity support at the worksite, including participating in the 10,000 Steps-a-Day Walking Program and the 7th Annual RUN@WORK Day; increasing the number of healthy-eating options available to employees by introducing a farmer’s market with fresh produce and eggs during the summer months; and promoting a wellness culture at the firm by providing Wellness Screenings, hosting a Wellness Fair, and sponsoring a team of employees to walk in the Central New Jersey Heart Walk.
