Peter Lehr to Speak at Philadelphia County Medical Society Event

Allentown, PA (December 8, 2010)– F. Peter Lehr, a Member of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino, the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will present a program entitled “Breaches of Health Information – The Undefined Price of Patient Privacy” to the Philadelphia County Medical Society on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Philadelphia. J. Timothy Cole, President and Chief Operating Officer of Tycor Benefit Administrators, Inc. will also participate in the program presenting “Long Term Care Insurance – Why It Can be Valuable to Purchase Through Your Practice.”

“My portion of the lunch presentation will cover the legal implications in the event that a patient’s confidential medical information is compromised. I will examine what the liabilities are of the individual medical practitioner and what precautions should be taken to prevent such an event,” explained Lehr.

Philadelphia County Medical Society (PCMS) along with similar societies of other counties forms and maintains the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and through it unite with similar state medical societies to form and maintain the American Medical Association. The mission of PCMS is to elevate and maintain the standards of medical education; to uphold the ethics and dignity of the medical profession; to integrate the activities of this society with those of the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the American Medical Association; to establish friendly intercourse among physicians and with the general public; to promote and enlighten public opinion with regard to the many important problems of public health and hygiene, so that the profession shall become more useful to the public in the prevention and management of disease and in prolonging and adding comfort to life, and to protect the rights and interests of physicians.

Lehr focuses his practice on health care transactional and regulatory matters, real estate and land use law including zoning and subdivision applications, and commercial lending.

Lehr has obtained favorable decisions for clients in numerous land use and zoning cases. He has served as counsel of record in municipal hearings, trial court cases and appellate level proceedings. Lehr has assisted municipal code enforcement officers in compliance proceedings and has drafted, interpreted and implemented ordinances and resolutions regulating matters from permit issuances to zoning classifications. As part of his practice, Lehr also regularly performs contract and real estate document reviews, including commercial leases.

As an active member of the community, Lehr serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including LifePath, Inc., the Weller Health Education Center and the Forum for Ethics in the Workplace. He is a member of the Leonard Pool Society of Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network.

Lehr earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University and his B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
