Richard B. Somach to Speak at CREW Presentation
Allentown, PA (October 21, 2013) – Richard B. Somach, III, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will be a presenter at Allentown’s Retail Revival, with Allison Lisiecki, City Center Retail Specialist, on Tuesday, October 29, at the Hamilton Financial Center in Allentown. This program, hosted by CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) Lehigh Valley, will take a journey into the past to explore the history of downtown Allentown’s retail landscape in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and will delve into the plans being implemented today and the vision of the future to attract the best retail mix to support the new arena, office, hotel and apartment development taking place in Allentown’s Neighborhood Improvement Zone.
“This is a really exciting time in Allentown and it is important that the developers and those involved are paying attention to every detail to make this redevelopment a great success for the city, its residents, and the entire Lehigh Valley,” said Somach.
Somach focuses his practice on real estate, commercial law, and creditors’ remedies, representing real estate development companies, shopping centers, and local banks. In the banking area, Somach assists clients with their transactional, litigation, and operational needs and has extensive experience handling collections, foreclosures and complex commercial workouts. He has represented real estate owners, developers and investors in a broad range of transactions including zoning matters, residential subdivisions and shopping center development. Somach serves as Assistant Lehigh County Solicitor, advising the Sheriff’s Office, the Tax Assessment Office and the Tax Claim Bureau, and frequently writes and lectures on real estate matters, sheriff’s sales and real estate tax sales. He is a past president of the Salisbury Township School Board, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and a member and past president of the Lehigh County Bar Association. Somach earned his J.D. in 1974 from Hofstra University and his B.A., with honors, from Lehigh University in 1971.
