Last week, the Honorable Emil Giordano (Ret.). joined the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges (PCSTJ) Annual Meeting on July 23 for a session on effective civil mediation techniques for judges. Joining him were course planners the Hon. Alan D. Hertzberg and the Hon. Terrence R. Nealon and fellow faculty Hon. Christina Ward (Ret.), Howard Schulberg, Esq., and Dan Sherry, Esq. The panel covered the ethics of judicial settlement discussions, caucus strategy, and what a judge can do that a mediator cannot.
