Bridgewater, NJ (December 8, 2025) – The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that Michelle L. Scanlon and Mariya Gonor have been selected to the Somerset County Business Partnership’s (“SCBP”) 40 Under 40 list. As active members within the community, Scanlon and Gonor were selected for their philanthropic and mentoring efforts within the firm and in their daily lives.

Scanlon is a frequent speaker at senior living facilities, hospitals, and support groups. She provides estate planning and elder law presentations for the SCBP and the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Elder and Disability Law Section, of which she is the Legislative Coordinator, to promote the importance of proper Medicaid/Medicare practices, power of attorney, wills and estate plans, and other applications and documentation crucial to the aging process. She is a board member for the Adult Day Center in Bridgewater, NJ; serves as Co-Chair of the Elder, Estates, & Trust Law Committee in the Somerset County Bar Association; and is a member of the Greater Middlesex/Somerset County Estate Planning Council. With the Elder Care Law team, she fundraises for the Alzheimer’s New Jersey’s Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s.

Gonor joined the firm as one of their youngest non-equity Members and continues to provide quality work and dedication for her involvement in the firm and her clients. Gonor maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented victims of Domestic Violence during Restraining Order Hearings with the Partners for Women and Justice and Rachel Coalition. She has also served as pro bono in-house corporate counsel for the Tri-Boro Volunteer Ambulance Corps, providing critical support to nonprofit organizations. Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian, Gonor brings a client-focused, solutions-driven approach to every matter she handles. Through The Employment Strategists blog and podcast, Gonor offers insights and strategies to help employers and employees by addressing challenges faced by both employers and employees. From hiring to termination, she offers insights into the evolving employment relationship and workplace.
