Zeller to Host Legal Q&A at Brewers of Pennsylvania Annual Meeting

Theodore J. Zeller III, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will host Legal Q&A at the 2016 Brewers of Pennsylvania Annual Meeting in Harrisburg on Monday, January 25, 2016.

“There is an ever-changing landscape to the rules and regulations surrounding branding, labelling, distribution and licensing affecting the brewing industry.  The past year in Pennsylvania saw dramatic changes. This meeting always provides an opportunity for members to learn about new advances in the industry and share in camaraderie with their peers,” said Zeller.

The Brewers of Pennsylvania, Inc., a non-profit association, creates an opportunity for members, comprising Pennsylvania-based brewers, to unify and protect their common and individual interests.  It employs agents to collect information of value to members regarding pending legislation that could affect the industry.  The association upholds the nobility of brewing and holds dear the great traditions and history of brewing in Pennsylvania.

Zeller focuses his practice on alcoholic beverage law; commercial transactions, including related real estate transactions; and litigation. He began his legal career as a litigator and has tried multiple cases in county and federal court, including jury trials; and hundreds of cases before arbitration panels, district justices, and administrative law judges. Zeller was lead counsel in a beer rights case brought against the world's largest brewers, and serves as outside general counsel to Yuengling Brewery and Brewers of Pennsylvania, among others.

Zeller’s lobbying efforts helped to modernize various parts of the Pennsylvania liquor code and he has authored numerous provisions that have been enacted into law.  Most recently, his efforts helped change brewery regulations to allow for tap rooms. In addition, he counsels clients on the acquisition of liquor licenses on the open market and coordinates liquor license transactions with other practice areas such as real estate, corporate and business law, financing, tax law, and litigation.

Zeller earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1992.
