Allentown, PA (March 15, 2012) – Theodore J. Zeller III, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will participate in a CLE presentation for the Northampton County Bar Association at the New Seasons Events Center in Easton on March 24, along with Robert Sletvold and Philip M. Hof, Esquire. Topics to be discussed include DUI law, liquor liability—dram shop and negligence, and liquor licensing. Following the CLE, Weyerbacher will offer a tour of their beer making facility and sampling.
“My portion of the CLE will cover the recent developments in liquor law and their impact on licensing,” said Zeller.
Zeller focuses his practice on alcoholic beverage law; commercial transactions, including related real estate transactions; and litigation. He began his legal career as a litigator and has tried multiple cases in county and federal court, including jury trials; and hundreds of cases before arbitration panels, district justices, and administrative law judges. Zeller was lead counsel in a beer rights case brought against the world's largest brewers and serves as outside general counsel to Yuengling Brewery.
Zeller’s lobbying efforts helped to change the public venue law under the Pennsylvania liquor code to assist firm clients in obtaining licenses under statute, instead of on the open market at extraordinary expense. In addition, he counsels clients on the acquisition of liquor licenses on the open market and coordinates liquor license transactions with other practice areas such as real estate, corporate and business law, financing, tax law, and litigation.
Zeller earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1989 and his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1992.
