  • Apr 08, 2019Dean Roberts to Speak on Cyber and Internet Issues

    Dean M. Roberts, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will present “Cyber and Internet Issues Affecting Co-Ops and Their Board of Directors” at the monthly meeting of the Coordinating Council of Cooperatives of Greater New York on Saturday, April 13.

    Roberts will discuss specific procedures and policies that board members and co-ops need to take into consideration when it comes to cyber and internet issues. The meeting, set for 9:15 – 12:00 p.m., Vladeck Hall, Amalgamated House, in Bronx, will also include a question and answer session, networking opportunities, and “What’s New in Your Co-Op.”

    Roberts focuses his practice on real estate litigation with a sub-specialty in the representation of cooperative housing corporations and condominiums.  He has handled all facets of condominium and cooperative ownership from sponsor/purchase and conversion to representing well-established tenant-shareholder Boards of Directors.  Roberts also represents cooperative corporations and moderate-income co-ops in all areas of litigation, including landlord/tenant litigation.

    Through his involvement with the Coordinating Council of Cooperatives, Roberts is active in court reform efforts and the cooperative movement.  In his community, he works to promote affordable housing as a director of the Cooperative Development Fund Board of Advisors and other housing programs.

    Roberts earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark in 1987, and his B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Rutgers College, in 1982.

  • Dec 27, 2018Michelle Forsell to Fill New Roles at Frederick Living

    Michelle M. Forsell, Of Counsel of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been elected secretary of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Governance Committee of Frederick Living for 2019.

    Forsell’s new roles were announced at the November 12th board meeting of Frederick Living, a close-knit not-for-profit continuing care retirement community nestled in the countryside of Montgomery County in southeastern Pennsylvania.

    A lifelong resident of Pennsburg, Montgomery County, Forsell focuses her practice primarily on estate planning and administration. The former Solicitor to the Borough of East Greenville, she is the immediate past president of the Bar Association of Lehigh County, an American Bar Association Fellow, Master for the Villanova Law Inn of Court, and a Montgomery County Arbitrator. In her community, she serves on numerous boards including Frederick Living, a Mennonite Health Services not-for-profit continuing care retirement community; The Gulack Foundation; and the Upper Perkiomen YMCA. Forsell earned her B.A. from West Chester University of Pennsylvania in 1999, her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2003, and her M.A. from Temple University in 2006. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania; the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania; the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Supreme Court.

  • Jun 04, 2018Janice Arellano Elected to APALA-NJ Board of Directors

    Janice V. Arellano, an Associate of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been elected to the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey (APALA-NJ) Board of Directors for 2018-2019.  She was installed at the association’s 21st Annual Gala on Friday, June 1 at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.

    APALA-NJ represents one of the fastest-growing minority populations in New Jersey and focuses on ensuring greater representation of Asian Pacific American attorneys in various sectors of the legal profession, as well as in government and the State’s judiciary.

    Arellano has experience defending private and public entities in employment law, personal injury and education matters in state and federal court as well as the Office of Administrative Law.

    Arellano earned her J.D. in 2014 from Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law, where she was a Law and Public Policy Scholar and obtained a Certificate in Trial Advocacy and Litigation.  She completed her M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from Mount Holyoke College.

    Before law school, Arellano was a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Public Policy Fellow and taught in public education in West Philadelphia. In addition to APALA-NJ, Arellano is co-chair of the Minority Trial Lawyer Committee of the ABA Section of Litigation and assists with the Hispanic Bar Association of NJ’s bi-annual Abogados newsletter.

    Robert E. Donatelli, a Member of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been elected to another term on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.

    Donatelli, a resident of Wescosville, has over forty years of experience in estate administration, wills and trusts, and real estate law.

    Donatelli helps clients with all aspects of estate planning and administration, including will preparation, tax issues, guardianships, powers of attorney, living wills, living trusts, special needs trusts, the process of probate, valuing, managing the estate, and executing decisions on guardianship and conservatorship.

    In the area of real estate law, Donatelli advises clients on matters of residential and commercial sales transactions, real estate contracts, mortgages, re-finances, foreclosures, eminent domain, title insurance, and title disputes.  He also handles land use, zoning, and permit matters.

    Donatelli is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®.  He is a member of the Ethics Board of the City of Allentown and a former solicitor of the Register of Wills of Lehigh County.  He is active in the Bar Association of Lehigh County, serving as President in 1985, and is a member of the Barristers Inn of Court, where he also served as President.

    A graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law, Donatelli is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
