The all-day event offered ethnic food, cultural dances, games, fireworks, and music by live bands including Los Bomberos, La Sonora Dinamita, Grupo de Danza ICAL, and Ex-Adolescentes Orquesta.

  • Jun 25, 2019Amy Kruzel Concludes Third Year Teaching Conflict Resolution Skills

    Amy L. Kruzel, an Associate of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., concluded her third year of teaching Conflict Resolution at the Easton Area Middle School.  Through the school’s Conflict Resolution Partnership Program, students are taught how to define what a conflict is; to identify different styles of conflict; to develop and recognize non-verbal communication skills; to advance their active learning skills; and to recognize how conflict and peace can coexist within our society.  Kruzel rotates teaching the six-week course with other local attorneys and Judges.  Kruzel indicates, “I fully intend to continue to participate in this program for as long as it is in existence. It affords me the unique opportunity to teach positive conflict resolution skills to adolescents in their crucial formative years.”

    Kruzel focuses her practice on all aspects of matrimonial law including divorce, custody, support, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She represents clients at trials, hearings, conciliation conferences, support conferences, De Novo hearings, and settlement conferences. Kruzel has also served as a mediator in divorce, custody and support matters.  Kruzel has presented oral argument in the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Eastern District.

    Outside of work, Kruzel volunteers with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and serves on their Executive Leadership Board. Kruzel recently accepted the nomination as the Lehigh Valley Branch’s first ever All-Star Alumni candidate for the 2020 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign.  She is also a volunteer at the legal clinic at the Bradbury Sullivan LGBT Community Center; is the Treasurer of the Family Law Section of the Bar Association of Lehigh County; and is on the Advisory Council of the Allentown Branch of the YMCA. Kruzel earned her B.S. from Dickinson College in 2002 and her J.D. from The Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, in 2005.

    Norris McLaughlin, P.A., was proud to sponsor the St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church Lebanese Festival, better known as “Mahrajan,” and the 2018 Easton Hispanic Cultural Festival and looks forward to sponsoring the upcoming  41st Annual Lebanese Heritage Days Festival 2018.

    The 41st Annual Lebanese Heritage Days Festival 2018 is the largest Lebanese festival in the tri-state area. Hosted by Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Easton, Pennsylvania, the festivities include ethnic Lebanese food and pastries, live music, games, drinks, full bars, and nights of Lebanese dancing. The event, open and free to the public, will be on Saturday, August 4, from 4 to 11:30 p.m., and Sunday, August 5, from 1:00 to 11:00 p.m.

    The Easton Hispanic Cultural Festival was held at Scott Park in Easton along Larry Holmes Drive, on Saturday, July 28, from noon to 10:00 p.m. This event was sponsored by the Latino Cultural Committee, the city of Easton, and Easton’s Mayor Salvatore Panto, Jr.

    The Maharajan was hosted in June by Saint Sharbel Maronite Church in Somerset, New Jersey. It featured live music, dance performances, homemade Lebanese food and pastries, games, and more to teach Lebanese culture. His Excellency, Bishop Gregory Mansour, of the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn, said, “The Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn is not only proud of the accomplishments of our member, Raymond Lahoud, but proud of its relationship with Norris McLaughlin, P.A.for its dedication to this Eparchy, the many immigrant communities across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including those of Lebanese descent, and for all the incredible work the Firm has done and continues to do in ensuring justice for all.”
