Once a humble two-man practice on Main Street in Somerville, New Jersey, Norris McLaughlin has remained a firm committed to client service, our community, and our employees – from two attorneys to 130+ attorneys, since 1953 we have continued to grow, remembering our culture and our values.
Norris McLaughlin Values our Clients
In response to the changing needs of our clients and the business community, Norris McLaughlin opened the New York office in 1999. In 2005, the firm merged with Schachter, Trombadore, Offen & Stanton, expanding the New Jersey office. In 2006, the firm merged with Szold & Brandwen, expanding the New York office. Then, in 2009, Norris McLaughlin merged with Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, the largest independent commercial firm in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, which can trace its roots in the Lehigh Valley back over 100 years.

Our firm and our attorneys have historically been committed to the communities where our clients live and do business – to make them better places to live, work and play. Our attorneys have held prominent leadership positions in various organizations throughout the areas we serve, and many of them have been honored for the work they do in the community. For example, the firm has been named a “Champion of Good Works” as one of the “Companies that Care” by COMMERCE Magazine.
Norris McLaughlin launched NM Cares, a program to encourage our employees to take an active role in charitable activities that better the community. Under NM Cares, the firm is granting each of its employees paid time off equal to one workday each year exclusively for charitable work. Those who participate in NM Cares must tell the story of why they chose the charity, explain how they became involved, and provide photos of their experience to be shared with clients and friends on the NM Cares website coming soon!
