The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., is pleased to welcome Michael K. Ligorano as a member in the firm’s Bridgewater, New Jersey office. Ligorano joins the firm’s Real Estate, Finance and Land Use Group and Immigration Practice Group.

“Michael has a deep understanding of our firm and of the local landscape. He is not only one of the state’s foremost land use and commercial real estate attorneys, but as an experienced immigration counsel will help make ours arguably the best immigration practice in the region,” David C. Roberts, Chair of Norris McLaughlin. “We are pleased to have Michael at the firm and look forward to his leadership and cross-practice collaboration.”

Ligorano noted “It is a true honor to be back at Norris McLaughlin and I know that my clients will benefit from the expanded level of services provided by the exceptional team of practitioners at the firm.”

    About Michael K. Ligorano

Ligorano focuses his practice in the areas of real estate and land use, as well as immigration. He regularly works with land developers, construction companies, major corporations, and small businesses in the evaluation of undeveloped land throughout all phases of the application process. He has experience in the acquisition, development, and financing of numerous local projects and has served as a municipal attorney and a planning board attorney for New Jersey towns.

Additionally, Ligorano works with small and multi-national businesses to help them enter into and remain in the U.S. He works closely with investors who are starting new companies or establishing branches of their existing businesses in the U.S., providing strategic guidance to them on immigration matters.

Prior to rejoining Norris McLaughlin, Ligorano served as General Counsel for the Diocese of Metuchen, overseeing all civil legal affairs of the Diocese, and serving as the supervising attorney for the Diocese of Metuchen Catholic Charities Immigration Program.

Ligorano earned his J.D. from the Western New England University School of Law and his B.A. from Rutgers University. He is a member of the New Jersey State, New York State, Florida, and Hunterdon County Bar Associations, as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
