The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A., is pleased to welcome Cindy S. Shu. She joins the firm’s Intellectual Property group.
Shu, a resident of Edgewater, New Jersey, spends the majority of her time preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications in technologies including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical, biomedical, and mechanical inventions. She drafts applications and responds to office actions, performs prior art search and freedom to operate review. She also has experience with the prosecution of reissue applications and interference procedure before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Shu earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, her M.S. from Columbia University, and her B.E. from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Before practicing law, she was a Director of Compliance and Legal Assistant for a money management firm. Shu also worked as an engineer in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
