David T. Harmon Quoted in FUNDfire

Somerville, NJ (July 15, 2008) – David T. Harmon, a member of the Somerville law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A. and Co-Chair of the firm’s Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Group, was recently quoted in an article entitled “SEC Case Outlines Risks in Advisor Recruiting” by Tom Stabile in the July 10, 2008 issue of FUNDfire, the leading source of all the competitive intelligence for the separately managed account industry.

FUNDfire breaks down the most critical news in the universe of institutional and high-net-worth asset management through a mix of original articles and summaries of the most important industry news. FUNDfire is delivered every morning to FUNDfire's more than 30,000 readers. Investment managers read FUNDfire to find out what competitors and prospective clients are doing down the street. Investment consultants, pension plans, endowments and foundations rely on FUNDfire to power their money management IQ. Original stories focus on subjects ranging from sales strategies to staffing and compensation. FUNDfire has sections devoted to major personnel moves in the money management industry. Twice each week, FUNDfire breaks down and analyzes the hirings, firings and resignations that have the greatest effect on managers’ business.

A resident of Short Hills, Harmon focuses his practice on the areas of executive compensation, employment and business law, including representation of institutions of higher education. He represents senior-level employees of both public and private companies in the negotiation of their employment packages and all associated agreements, whether at the commencement of the employment relationship or at termination. His successful negotiation of employment and severance packages for clients includes addressing all aspects of employment and post-employment compensation, respectively, and structures and strategies for those packages. His representation also includes providing advice and counsel to employers in the negotiation of employment and severance packages with their employees, and the design of compliance programs, including employee policy manuals, and counseling and training concerning implementation of those policies.

Harmon is a member of the Board of Directors of the Wall Street Technology Association, and a member of the Business Law and Labor & Employment Law Sections of the New York State and American Bar Associations. Harmon works out of the firm’s New York City office.
