  • Dec 19, 2018Barbara Hollenbach Elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites for 2019

    Barbara L. Hollenbach, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been elected Chair of the Board of Trustees of Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites for 2019.

    “I am honored to have been elected to serve as Chair for 2019. I am looking forward to working with our very talented staff and board to promote the mission of HBMS and the initiative to recognize Historic Moravian Bethlehem as a UNESCO World Heritage site,” said Hollenbach.

    Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites brings history to life by educating the public about Bethlehem’s rich heritage; by preserving historic sites; and by collecting, preserving, and exhibiting historical and artistic objects that can be used to tell stores of Bethlehem’s people.

    A resident of Bethlehem, Hollenbach focuses her practice on workers’ compensation, professional liability, products liability, and general litigation.  Her civil litigation experience includes representing manufacturers of motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and other products, as well as professionals including psychiatrists and veterinarians.  She also represents clients in will contest actions including allegations of undue influence and lack of mental capacity. Hollenbach is certified as a specialist in workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.  She has been named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer for the past 10 years.  She was the first woman elected president of the Northampton County Bar Association, and is a past chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law Section.  From 2011 – 2016, Hollenbach served on the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Rules Committee.  A Fellow of The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, Hollenbach has co-authored and co-presented the Pennsylvania Bar Institute Workers’ Compensation Practice & Procedures manual and course since 2000. She earned her J.D., cum laude, in 1978 from Dickinson School of Law and her B.A., with highest distinction, in 1975 from Pennsylvania State University.

    Barbara L. Hollenbach, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., has been recertified for another five years as a specialist in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Her recertification is effective July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2023.

    “I am proud to have been among the first group of lawyers certified as specialists in Workers’ Compensation in Pennsylvania in 2013,” said Hollenbach. Adding, “I look forward to continuing to represent our many clients as a specialist in this area of law.”

    Barbara L. Hollenbach, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., was a moderator for “Legal Updates” on June 7 and June 8 at the 17th Annual Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The sessions focused on leading cases and potential problematic issues facing workers’ compensation practitioners.

    The 17th Annual Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Conference, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, had over 1,000 attendees, including employers, case managers, third-party administrators, defense/claimant counsel, labor and others. The conference provided a sharing of practical, useful and timely information, and provided unique opportunities to network with other workers’ compensation professionals.

  • Aug 04, 2017Barbara Hollenbach to Speak on Paradigm Shift in Workers’ Compensation

    Barbara L. Hollenbach, a Member of the law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., will be on the faculty for the upcoming live webinar “Paradigm Shift in WC” hosted by PBI, the Continuing Legal Education Arm for the Pennsylvania Bar Association, along with Thomas C. Baumann, Esq., from Abes Baumann in Pittsburgh.  They will discuss Baumann’s involvement in Protz v. Derry Area School District, its background, the Supreme Court’s decision declaring Section 306 (a.2) of the Workers’ Compensation Act regarding impairment ratings unconstitutional, as well as retroactivity, waiver issues, and the effect on existing and future cases.  The program, which has been approved for one Pennsylvania CLE credit, will be available on Thursday, August 10, from noon to 1:00 p.m.  For more information or to register, visit http://catalog.pbi.org/.

    Barbara L. Hollenbach, a Member of the law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., was part of the faculty for “Workers’ Compensation: Best Practices and Recommendations,” hosted by PBI, the Continuing Legal Education Arm for the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  The program, which advised participants on streamlining procedures, has been approved for two hours of substantive law CLE credit and one hour of ethics CLE credit in Pennsylvania.  The event, was held at the PBI Conference Center in Mechanicsburg on Wednesday, May 17, from 12:30 to 4:15 p.m., simulcast to 18 locations, and was available as a live webcast at catalog.pbi.org.
