Raymond G. Lahoud Appointed to American Immigration Lawyers Association Committees
The law firm of Norris McLaughlin, P.A. is pleased to announce that Raymond G. Lahoud, chair of the firm’s Immigration Practice Group, has been appointed to serve on the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) Bylaws Committee and the Document and Verification Liaison Committee for the 2022-2023 term.
The AILA’s Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing bylaws and policy issues, including bylaw interpretation and those submitted by chapter, which arise throughout the year. The committee also assists with drafting new bylaws and policy language.
The organization’s Verification & Documentation Liaison Committee works with DHS and DOJ components on issues involving employment verification, I-9 documentation requirements, ICE enforcement efforts, OCAHO, and more. The committee also regularly meets with ICE Homeland Security Investigations and the DOJ Immigration and Employee Rights Section.
